What is Pay Per Click – Google AdWords Campaign?
Pay Per Click (PPC) is an internet marketing strategy that can bring immediate results through an increase in traffic. The idea behind PPC is to use content ads on search engines and websites related to search engines to increase exposure to the target audience and bring traffic to the site as a result. It’s not much different than real-world advertising, with companies forming their ads and then paying the medium, for instance TV channels, for displaying the ads at a certain time. Similarly, with PPC, the companies form their content ads and pay the search engine to display the ads to all the people who search for services and products present at your website.
How much does PPC cost?
In PPC, you pay for the number of clicks on your ad and not the number of people who actually view the ad. To be simple, PPC starts by selecting a target keyword and drafting a content ad that has a heading and a small body with the link of the page you want the people to visit. You then place a bid on the target keyword and decide the CPC (Cost Per Click) you are ready to pay the search engine. You must remember that the CPC you set will define the placement of your sponsored ad on the searches for your targeted keyword. If your competitor targets the same keyword and puts in a higher CPC bid, your ad would be visible below their ad to the users. You also set a budget cap for each day (or month), and once the entire money has been used up, the search engine stops displaying your ad for the remaining part of the time period.
